Welcome to the Investment Performance Case Study of Warby Parker, which follows our clients' journeys of investing in Warby Parker between 29th Sep, 2021 and 12th Nov, 2021, during which the recorded share price produced a gain of 46%.
Warby Parker, an eyewear company known for disrupting the traditional glasses market with a direct-to-consumer model, went public in September 2021. The company offers stylish, affordable eyewear, and its business model focuses on online sales with an emphasis on social responsibility.

Warby Parker is a consumer eyewear and vision-care business that developed its brand through a combination of direct-to-consumer e-commerce and an expanding physical retail network. The company entered the public markets on 29 September 2021 through a direct listing of its Class A common stock on the New York Stock Exchange.
Unlike a conventional initial public offering, Warby Parker chose a direct listing, allowing existing shares to begin trading publicly without the traditional IPO underwriting process. The NYSE established a reference price of $40.00 per share ahead of the company's market debut. The case study uses this reference price as its starting value.
By 12 November 2021, the recorded share price had increased to $58.34. Against the $40.00 starting value, this represented an increase of approximately 45.9% during the study period and demonstrated the strong initial public-market reception received by the business following its listing.
